The Albany Avenue Block Association is neighbors looking out for neighbors — on our own block, with our own hands. Here's what we do together.

Every summer we close the avenue and open it up to each other. Our 4th Annual Block Party was Saturday, August 1, 2026, 10 AM–6 PM — presented by Lamont, Prance & Donovan. See how it went.
For the fourth summer running, Albany Avenue between Church and Linden closed to traffic at ten in the morning and stayed closed till six at night. Bouncy houses and an inflatable slide where the cars usually park. A hydrant open at the corner, running the length of the block and cooling the whole street down. Giant Connect Four, ring toss and ping-pong under the canopies, a basketball hoop out on the block, a stilt walker up over the porches, a DJ set up on the sidewalk playing the block, grills going all day — every bit of it free, and every bit of it put on by neighbors, for neighbors.
Thank you to everybody who came out, brought a chair, cooked, watched somebody else's kid for a minute, and stayed to break it all down at the end. That's the whole thing, right there. We close the avenue every summer, and next year makes five. Planning starts with whoever puts their hand up.
Every summer these three get the permit filed, the avenue closed, the bouncy houses in and the grills going — then keep it running till the sun goes down.

The party doesn't come together on its own. These are neighbors on this block who show up for it.

We drew Albany Avenue building by building, Church to Linden — all 28 addresses you can join, plus the empty lot at 851 and the driveway beside 904, each one at its real width. When a neighbor joins, their house lights up.
